I have been professionally involved in art and technology since 1965. My 25+ years of experience in fields such as film, special effects cinematography, theater, puppetry and computer graphics, allow me to bring a truly interdisciplinary approach to New Media.
Before joining Digital Worlds, I was Special Effects Supervisor for SZM, the premier broadcast studio in Munich, Germany, where I was in charge of visual effects production for weekly television series and feature films. I designed the virtual reality environment for Paramount’s production “Virtuosity”, starring Denzel Washington and Rusell Crowe, This was the first ever major feature film whose special effects were designed and produced entirely on a PC platform.
In NY I became Creative Director for R/ GA and Associates, an Academy Award leading-edge motion graphics and live-action film and video production. I was also Vice-President of Creative at Agency.com in NY where I worked for Fortune 500 clients and developed a staff of up to 90 creatives, including designers and art directors, information architects, copywriters, builders and discipline managers.
I have been involved in the game industry since 1988 as a designer and art director for companies such as Electronic Arts, Brøderbund, Sierra Online and Microsoft, bringing my special effects film experience into the game world. My current interests include robotics and animatronics and bridging the virtual with the real world.
