I am fascinated by Second Life and hope what I recently read about the ability to travel between metaverses will become a reality. Ray Schroeder, Director of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning for University of Illinois Springfield, led our institution's efforts to start exploring in SL. As a Professor Emeritus in Communication (emphasis in Emerging Technologies), Ray predicts that virtual worlds will become the web of the future and our avatars will go out while we sleep gathering information...and quite possibly shopping! :)
