So here's an update on my adventures navigating SL. New Haven is treating me quite well. I spent the evening getting familiar with my surroundings there. This is me looking pensive by the waters...

Ooh, what do we have here? Jet skis?

Of course I tried it out!

Lookin' like a pro now.

...

Or not.

Yeah, so I tried to get off the jet ski but ended up falling into the water, hahaha. Can people drown in Second Life??

Oh, and I was told by Melah and a few other SL vets that I should work on my animation, particularly my walk, because apparently, I've been walking like a robot this whole time!

So I tried some things out, and wow, the 'sexy walk' really makes a difference. I need to learn how to videotape stuff on here. But here you can see me awkwardly trying out different walks and poses.

Apparently you can change the way you sit down too. So that's pretty cool - it actually makes a big difference. The way I was walking around before it was pretty obvious I was new in town.
And I definitely wasted no time going freebie shopping. I tried to hit up all the places I could find. I actually checked out the Sloan Center mall too, but was disappointed to see that nothing was free, ha.

(RIP MJ)
I did see a lot of awesome stuff to buy though. I should probably consider getting a job or something!

But for now, I'm totally digging all the free stuff :)

Unfortch, I hoarded so much free crap that I have no way of organizing it at the moment. I should also mention that without Melah, I would not have even known how to try on clothes... During my attempts, I ended up wearing those cardboard displays instead of the actual clothes.

This was me trying to visit Paris (or was it Italy? Don't remember now). But there were technical difficulties, as you can see here.
But if I ever want to make another trip back to wherever that was, the eLab City library is a fantastic place to start (thanks for showing me, Adriana! :)

This map teleports you to so many different places.

After exploring SL all by my lonesome, I've concluded that I need to start making some other newbie friends - it would make learning a lot more fun! It's nice to have people relate to my awkward moments. Also need to perfect my animations, gotta look more natural than a newbie! And of course, start visiting more places, and interacting with other avatars. Recommended places anyone?

Until next time, Harlowe out :)

Heyhey! You may know this already, but you can change your environment settings if you don't want to be stuck walking around in the dark. Go to the World tab and all the way down it says environment settings...and you can choose whatever you want and change it to whatever time you want. Hope I helped!
